This artifact examines how YouTube’s recommendation algorithm influences what users see and how that can unintentionally promote misleading and harmful content. The goal was to seriously analyze the platform and explore ways it could be improved. The paper breaks down the issue by looking at the technological, social, and ethical factors that shape YouTube’s algorithm. Research was used to support the claims and identify certain patterns in how content is distributed and prioritized. Tools like Google Docs were used to develop and organize the analysis while there was also a structured argument built to clear recommendations for improving transparency with the users. This artifact demonstrates the ability to analyze platform systems and communicate the findings in a clear and organized way.

Being able to understand how different platforms shape user interaction is very important in technical communication. The artifact compares Discord as an online community and Instagram as a social network using concepts from “Design to Thrive” to analyze how each platform supports communication and user engagement. The analysis focuses on how each platform structures interaction, influences user behavior, and builds communities. Concepts like identity, participation, and communication patterns were used to find the strengths and limitations of each platform.
